This post is text poor, mainly because the day was spent just the same as the previous day – laying on a lounge, reading, and going for the occasion swim in the Bay of Bengal (I love saying that!), peppered with some delicious eating. The real reason this post even exists is because of the photographs.
A little sidebar on the staff at Amazing Ngapali: I witnessed a first this morning – a waitress reluctant to accept a tip from a customer! Wonder what policy is on tipping in Amazing Resorts? Our waiters have been excellent – funny, outgoing women who are good at their jobs and have very good English. Another reason to eat here, besides the food.
We did have 2 excursions today: a morning venture back to the art gallery we dropped into last night (Gallerie Htein Lin Thar) and another dinner at Ngapali Kitchen. The first was via tuk tuk, but it was a very different tuk tuk to the ones we had experienced in Cambodia – this was like riding in the back of a truck; really hard suspension on very dodgy roads…basically ‘rough as guts’.
Our travel agent on this trip was Kyaw Khaing at One Stop Myanmar. He handled all of our internal flights, transfers and tours. We were very impressed with his efficiency, helpfulness, excellent advice, friendliness and price!
