Westport Plaza is a nice 4 star hotel. We had a standard room, which, while not large, was really well-designed and appointed. The shower was excellent – which may sound like a small thing, but after all of the badly designed and dodgy showers we have experienced, it’s great to find one where both the temperature and water pressure choices are in your control!. The bed was high and particularly comfortable, with fluffy doonas and good pillows. Just what we needed after a full day of travelling.
Another good feature was the underground parking. The lifts were handy to this, so neither you or your luggage were out in the wet weather.
It was nice to relax in the bar in the late afternoon with a drink and some nibbles before heading out into the evening.
The only dampener on the whole stay was completely beyond the control of the hotel. Being a Thursday night, we weren’t expecting there to be much noise, but nothing could be further from the truth – there were several loud groups of drunken revellers in the courtyard/car park area partying until about 3am. Not pleasant, but luckily we were so tired that they only occasionally disturbed our sleep.
Overall, a nice stay in Westport in a very good location.
